QSL Cards

I no longer send out QSL cards with each and every QSO in the hopes that I will get a card in return. I'm still waiting for cards to be returned from 1999. I have changed my personal policy on QSL cards to the following:

    • I don't send out cards for every QSO any more.
    • I DO NOT use the bureau any more. I don't even know if I have any envelopes at the bureau currently.
NO BUREAU!   I DO NOT HAVE ENVELOPES THERE
      NO BUREAU! NO TENGO SOBRES
NON BUREAU! JE N'AI PAS D'ENSEMBLE LÀ
KEIN BÜRO! ICH HABE NICHT EINE UMSCHLÄGE
NESSUN UFFICIO! NON HANNO HANNO INSIEME
    • If for some reason you want or need my paper card I will be more than happy to send you one if you send me your paper card first via the postal service. A SASE is not necessary, but is appreciated.
    • I can send a card electronically (PDF) if you wish. Send a request for one to the email address listed on QRZ.com or my Contact AG4RR page.
      Please include
      • Your Call Sign
      • QSO Date and Time
    • All you have to do is print it out on card stock.

I'm sorry that I can no longer send out 100's of card monthly, I used to send them out when I was employed and had extra disposable income. Now that I am retired and on a VERY small fixed income I have to be VERY selective as to where my money goes. I wish I could still afford sending 100's of cards monthly, but I cannot. I know that you will understand this.

One thing that I have found with paper cards is I receive duplicate cards for the same contact. Here is how it goes

  1. Someone sends me a QSL card.
  2. I return my QLS card.
  3. I receive a second QLS card for the same contact.
The original sender has forgot that he/she sent the first card.
I see this as a waste of
    1. Time
    2. Stamps
    3. Trees
    4. MONEY

An eQSL is automatically sent when working PSK31 if I have an Internet connection. When I do not have internet (a frequent happening here) I upload my log as soon as I can.

I try to upload my log(s) to QRZ.com and LOTW at least once a week (sometimes that does not happen), and depending on my activity they maybe uploaded daily.

My non-PSK31 contacts are uploaded weekly as needed to eQSL, LOTW and QRZ.com.

Furthermore I upload the logs to

Please note that if I'm mobile I may not be able to log the QSO so it may not get uploaded.
